The Coin Exchange of West Covina has been serving the the San Gabriel Valley collecting community for over 55 years. Coin collecting is in our genes! A family owned business, the Coin Exchange of West Covina is your home base for finding great value on hard-to-find coins. As an active coin dealer, we are always buying gold and silver coins. We are a full service coin shop buying and selling rare coins, silver coins, gold, platinum, palladium, sterling silver and more.
This picture was taken way back in the olden days of the 1900’s. It’s not so dramatic, though – we think it was taken in 1998. David (right) had just gotten out of the Army a couple of years earlier.
David’s pretty much running the store, now which has been a long-held hope of Bill’s that David would take over when it time for retirement. “No worries, Dad.”
Though Bill is semi-retired, he is still very passionate about the coin business and comes in weekly to make sure things are running smooth.
Update: Bill is retired. David and his son, Jason are now running the store. 🙂

A business is only as good as its people. And we have good people!

David Recksiek is co-managing partner of the Coin Exchange of West Covina. He specializes in US Coins with a focus on Morgan Dollars. Born and raised in Southern California, David hails from Ventura, CA but calls West Covina home. His hobbies are swimming, reading and marksmanship.

Jason Recksiek is co-managing partner of the Coin Exchange of West Covina. He specializes in US coins with a focus on early half-dollars. His hobbies are online gaming and helping his father fix his computer three times a week, and cooking.

Susanne Watts is an associate at the Coin Exchange of West Covina and specializes in collectible currency with a focus on early US currency. Her hobbies are marksmanship, martial arts, and more marksmanship. She is our “Queen of Currency.”

Lynnda Fair is an associate at the Coin Exchange of West Covina. She specializes in keeping us in line and organized. She bought the business in 1981 with David’s father and ran the business for 15 years. She is the Chief Advice Giver for our small business. Most importantly, she’s David’s mom and Jason’s grandmother.

Last, but not least is William Recksiek. He is the paterfamilias of our operation. William recently retired but is called upon every few days to offer advice and guidance on everything coins. William had bought the store with his previous wife in 1981 and owned the store up until David and Jason took over recently. Pictured with his wife of over 25 years, they are now living happily in retirement in The Commonwealth of Virginia.
